Kat Bun Heng - Director of Community Translation

Before becoming the director of Community Translation, Bun Heng had a long history in development work.  After finishing University with a degree in English Literature and a Masters in Business Administration, he began working in rural Rattanakiri province as a volunteer with the UN in a local capacity building project. Soon after he began working toward community development and sustainable natural resource management within UNDP.  Becoming profoundly interested in nonprofit work, he began work with ZOA Refugee Care, an NGO based out of the Netherlands, helping to repatriate Cambodians from Thai refugee camps back into Khmer society for two years. From there he became a Project Team Leader for the Cambodia Trust, an organization working with Cambodians with disabilities. He additionally worked as a Director for Non Timber Forest Poduct-Cambodia, based in Rattanakiri before moving to Siem Reap to become a Project Advisor to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. Bun Heng joined Human Translation in 2009 and currently lives in Siem Reap with his wife and beautiful daughter.
